Scientology Volunteer Ministers India Goodwill Tour has moved on to Ahmedabad in the State of Gujarat
Goooood Morning!
Well it’s been ages since we posted so we figured we would give you a little update on the latest from the Volunteer Ministers out in India. I just came across a couple tidbits to update you on if you’re still following after us being severely MIA…which by the way, MIA is amazing–the singer I mean. Her hit “Paper Planes” which was featured in Slumdog Millionaire is just plain genius. Suggest you download it from iTunes if you haven’t already. Her music colored our Indian adventure with funky beats and good times.
Well, I know Mohammad has been busy as ever with the Volunteer Ministers and their Indian Goodwill Tour. He’s just always on the go helping children, doing seminars for adults and more.
One such seminar, in the technology of study, was held to great results at the Gujarat University Law School. Law students need to learn, retain and use a great deal of information, and the students at the law school found their seminar extremely useful.
I definitely need to get the latest and greatest from Kolkata. I know they’re making a lot of progress but more needed…always as we know.
Hope you’re all well, good things happening here and planning our next adventure.
India is rich in its children. With a child population of 44o million and another 26 million being added every year, India is the youngest country in the world. However the economic progress made in the recent past has not filtered into the social sector.
In India today, one out of every two children under 3 years of age is malnourished.
Half of all Indian children are not in school.
India has 420 million kids. That’s more than the US and UK combined.
One in four Indian girls are sexually abused before the age of 4.
52% of girls aged 6-10 are out of school.
48% of boys aged 6-10 are out of school.
There are thousands and thousands of children in the slums of Kolkata who have never gone to school, do not have any basic training, no proper shelter and no sanitation.
