Out of the Slums and Into the Schools

About Us

Well we will make this brief because this isn’t really about us! It’s about the children of India. However we are Nick and Erin Banks. We live in Los Angeles, and as you can see in our blog, we’re currently in Kolkata, India working as volunteers. We’re volunteering in the schools and medical camp here developed by Mohammad Khalil Ullah and Educating Children International. We’re also helping to set up an orphanage (Residential School), which is their latest project.

With all that’s going on in the world it can be very easy to get wrapped up in one’s own problems. The truth is that there are so many people in need of help and with far worse conditions than most can possible imagine. We decided to turn our efforts toward others for a few months and make a difference. We hope our site is of interest to you and offers some inspiration to do the same.
